What is If Darkness Had Its Way?

Let me first begin with going back four years. My love for Kingdom Hearts began when the game was released. My sister bought it, and I at the time thought it was going to be a stupid idea. Disney and Square-Enix together? It'd never work. Or so I thought. She sat me down and shoved the controller in my hands and said that the game was magnificant, and it was. It captured me just within the first hour. From then on I couldn't put it down.

I've loved it ever since.

Even after the game had been out for a long time I still continued to draw artwork of it. A random idea popped into my head one day to draw the cast in gothic styled clothing (well, what I thought was "goth" at the time lol). Then one picture spawned into two, then so on and so forth. I began drawing a fan-comic about the gothic versions and what the world was like in which they then lived. My thoughts were that it took place some time long after Kingdom Hearts' story. The world they lived upon had been ground down by darkness into a desolate abandoned place in which they only remained because they knew their enemy was close here.

I also had loved RikuSora (the pairing of the characters Riku and Sora) and so I also wanted to work that in comicly. Kairi, I wanted to get more headstrong in my story. To actually have some kind of personality (no offence Nomura-san). I think action in comics is good but having humorous moments too makes it all the more enjoyable.

Unfortunately the comic was never finished since I lost interest, and also wanted to move on to other things.

Now, four years later, as I was looking back on the comic again I decided to take a leap of faith and begin working on it again. But this time around I plan to put a lot more thought into the flow of the story, its characters, and the artwork too. The old comic at the time was my best work and I still cherish it deeply... but now I want to really see what I can accomplish.

I know it's fanart but I feel that this will be good practice for me as I've been seriously considering going into graphic novels for the past 3 years ever since I started an original story (still in progress). This will more or less be a way for me to prepare, learn my weaknesses and improve upon them before I start what I really hope turns into something great.
